  • Raising a concern

At The Wainfleet Magdalen C of E Methodist School, we are committed to working in partnership with parents and carers and believe that concerns are best resolved at the earliest opportunity through open, honest and respectful communication. To support this, the school has a Raising a Concern Protocol which outlines the steps parents and carers should follow when they have a worry, question or concern about any aspect of school life. A concern may be defined as an expression of worry or doubt for which reassurance, clarification or resolution is sought, whereas a complaint is an expression of dissatisfaction about an action taken or a lack of action. We encourage all parents and carers to follow the school's Raising a Concern Protocol before progressing to the formal complaints process, as many issues can be resolved informally and quickly through discussion with the appropriate member of staff. Concerns relating to teaching and learning should normally be raised with the class teacher in the first instance, whilst concerns regarding safeguarding and the welfare of a child should be reported immediately to a member of the safeguarding team. Where a concern cannot be resolved through the Raising a Concern Protocol, parents and carers may then access the formal stages of the Complaints Policy. The school will always seek to listen carefully, respond fairly and work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcome for all involved.

Please find below our Academy Complaints Policy, if you require any additional assistance please do not hesitate to contact the School Office.
